About Salty Boat Studio

 

Hi there! I'm Candice, the aspiring metalsmith, jewelry designer, and photographer behind Salty Boat Studio! In 2017, my husband Simon and I moved onto a 1979 Lafitte 44 sailboat named Synergy.

For a number of years I knew I wanted to learn metalsmithing but wasn't sure if it was possible to do on a boat! In the summer of 2018 I took the plunge and purchased some basic metalsmithing tools. I immediately fell in love with this art form. Being able to channel my love for the ocean, animals, and life into a piece of jewelry to be worn and treasured feels absolutely amazing!

After years of boat life we are now living in beautiful Colorado! We do dream of returning to the sea in the future~

I personally make every piece of jewelry by hand and most pieces are one-of-a-kind. My jewelry is made using recycled silver, genuine sea glass from around the world, and responsibly sourced gemstones. My designs are simple with a touch of whimsy. And most pieces are made comfortably for daily wear.
